Congratulations to Ruth - even though she lives in Canada and the official rules state that the contest is void in any country outside the United States (see rule #7). I hope in the future, Club Med will follow their own rules and set a good example for the kids. Anyone who has children knows, you can't change the rules in the middle of the game! You taught the kids that adults can change the rules whenever they want and that sometimes, people who don't follow the rules win.

Wow, if Ruth lives in Canada then she should have been disqualified from the outset. Apparently the contest "rules" were only suggestions, and could be changed at random, or disregarded completely. I'm not one of the parents involved, but if I was I'd be really unhappy about having to explain this little life lesson to my child - that doing it by the book and playing fair is definitely NOT its own reward.

What the heck Club Med! First you say you are choosing the top three (you gave us two), then you give a prize to someone ineligable by YOUR OWN rules. Why would you do this to all those kids that entered the contest in good faith? It's amazing what you did to this contest! I know we're not the only one that are majorly disappointed by how you have handled it.

Totally unfair, and this whole experience was a disappointment to our entire family.
Sandals Resorts, anyone??

In Rule #1 it also states: "The Sweepstakes is open to entrants who are legal residents of the United States and Canada". So in one place the rules did say Canada was included, and later that it was void outside of the US. Hard to say why it was different in 2 places, but you could say that Club Med was following Rule #1.

It might be more constructive, and a better example to the kids, to voice concerns to the organizers privately. This may not be the best forum, especially if kids are reading these comments.
