Club Med Announces Crazy Signs Dance Contest

In celebration of Mini Club Med’s new theme song Dance in the Sun, Club Med invites children to choreograph their own official Club Med dance. The contest launches today via Club Med’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. The winning choreographers will enjoy a seven-night all-inclusive family vacation to Club Med.

Earlier this year, Club Med invited the youngsters and young at heart to vote for Mini Club Med’s theme song online. After three weeks of voting, fans chose Dance in the Sun. Now, Club Med is encouraging toddlers, teens and those in between to create their own Crazy Signs. For Club Med novices, Crazy Signs is a set of choreographed moves guests perform as a group at Club Med – similar to the Macarena or Electric Slide. The winning dance will be named Club Med’s official Crazy Signs Dance for Dance in the Sun. Children attending Mini Club Med throughout the Americas will learn the steps.

“Creative input from kids keeps our programming young and hip,” comments Sabina Sicuso, Vice President of Marketing. “The new insights that our young guests provide regarding Club Med programs continuously surprise us. Kids were already creating dance steps at Club Med—and this inspired us to launch an official contest for children throughout the U.S. and Canada to choreograph the official Mini-Club Med Crazy Signs.”

The contest is open to entrants 17 years of age and under. To enter, upload a video of the dance moves on YouTube and send the link to crazysigns@clubmed.com. Videos should be posted on YouTube by September 15, 2008. The winner will be announced September 30, 2008.

Mini Club Med, dedicated to children ages four to 10 years old, encourages young guests to learn about indigenous cultures, explore nature’s beauty and take part in a variety of sports and activities designed for their age group. Children are divided into small groups according to their age and interests to participate in programs such as Club Med’s Circus School, Hip Hop Kidz, Lil’ Explorers Science Club, Mini Magic, and Petit Chef, a new culinary class on cooking basics and healthy eating tips. Additional activities include flying trapeze, tennis lessons, soccer, sailing, in-line skating, games, arts and crafts.
